We are not broken.
We are whole, and we’ve been enduring.
Enduring disconnection from our bodies, from our authenticity, from honest relationship. Many of us learned early that to belong or be loved, we had to become someone other than who we are.
Those adaptations were necessary. They kept us connected. They kept us safe. But they became too small to hold the whole of who we are and the life trying to emerge through us.
The ache, the restlessness, the patterns we keep repeating aren’t proof that something is wrong with us. They’re signals. Something deeper has been trying to get our attention, calling us back into our full being.
We have found a way.
A Community Awakening
Healing through relationship, from the inside out.
We were wounded in relationship, and we heal in relationship. The Counter Complex offers Men’s Groups, Women’s Circles, Dreamwork, Workshops, and Retreats, all grounded in the DreamCompass Method and Integrative Self Analysis.
We work from the bottom up. Our instincts and emotions shape how we think and act, not the other way around, so that’s where we begin: with the body, with dreams, with story and myth, where the soul does its speaking. Then we carry what we find into our relationships, our work, and everyday life.
Your faith, your tradition, and your story are welcome here. They’re where the work happens.
This Work Happens in Relationship
Insight alone doesn’t restore what was shaped in relationship. Healing requires contact.
We meet in intentional circles where instinct, emotion, and truth are received with presence rather than correction. We listen to dreams as the language the deeper part of us uses to reach us. We trust the body to hold the memory and meaning the mind has lost track of. And we treat relationship as the place where repair becomes possible.
Each of us walks in wearing a mask, the version of ourselves that kept us safe. We don’t shame it. The pattern isn’t our fault, but listening to what it’s been trying to tell us is our responsibility. And what’s under the mask is never just pain. It’s the thing that mattered enough to hide.
This isn’t about fixing or performing. It’s about staying present long enough for something real to reorganize.
Our Offerings
A circle of men helping each other find their calling, and the structure to live it.
For men with strong potential who keep starting over instead of building something lasting. Men who know there must be something more and are ready to discover what they’re capable of.
Every man carries a fire: his drive, his voice, his purpose. Without structure, it burns out or burns everything around him. The circle gives that fire somewhere to go, and over time helps each man build that structure within himself.
Together we share our dreams, the moments that shaped us, and the challenges we’re still facing. The circle sees past the mask each of us walks in with and names what’s underneath, because that’s where the gold is. Then we test what we find through service in our community. Insight in the circle, proof in the real world.
Every other Sunday evening, in person in Clovis. Every man starts with a one-on-one conversation.
Men’s Group
A relational space for women seeking deeper connection with their instincts, emotional truth, and embodied wisdom.
This group supports women in reclaiming parts of themselves shaped by over-giving, self-abandonment, or disconnection from their bodies and desires. Through shared reflection and presence, women build clarity, self-trust, and the capacity to be fully expressed without losing themselves.
The work emphasizes emotional integration, nervous system regulation, and honest relationship, supporting women in living with greater confidence and alignment.
This is a space for truth, depth, and restoration.
Women’s Circle
Dreams aren’t random. They’re one of the ways the deeper, wiser part of us speaks, through images, symbols, and feelings rather than logic. That part of us can see what our thinking mind can’t, and it’s been trying to reach us for a long time.
A single dream can hold where a pattern started, what it’s doing in our lives now, and who we could become. What shows up at night is speaking directly to the life we’re living by day.
In our Dreamwork Circles, we don’t hand you a dictionary or tell you what your dream means. We start with what the dream stirs in your body and instincts, and we listen together. Meaning comes through feeling first, then understanding, and the dreamer is always the one who recognizes it.
Over time, the dream world and the waking world stop feeling so separate, and what we learn at night starts showing up in how we live and love.
No prior experience is required.
Dreamwork
Some things can’t be understood from a chair. They have to be lived. Our workshops and retreats step outside ordinary life long enough for something deeper to surface: the images that move us, the feelings we’ve learned to manage, and the parts of ourselves waiting for the right conditions to speak.
We work from the bottom up, starting with the body, our instincts, and the stories we’re already living. Through dreams, myth, film, and shared experience, we meet the patterns that have shaped our lives in a room where we can be seen.
Workshops focus on a single theme or story. Retreats give us several days away, often in nature, to slow down and let what we find take root. Either way, you leave with something you can live, not just remember.
Men, women, and couples are all welcome. This work is for capable adults ready to look honestly at their lives, not crisis care or a replacement for therapy.
